For the third summer, this program will be funded by the generous support of Cascade Hemophilia Consortium in honor of Andy Voegtle. It honors his visionary leadership and his monumental contributions to the bleeding disorders community.  The objective is to work with young adults in the bleeding disorders community to further develop their leadership qualities while providing a memorable experience they will carry with them for the rest of their life.

To apply, young adults need to fill out an application form as well as provide a written recommendation to the Hemophilia Foundation of Michigan by May 24, 2007.

Spending a few weeks of your summer at Camp Bold Eagle can change your life forever.  Being a camp counselor is a rewarding and demanding job.  If you are ready for the challenge, download an application and return it to HFM by March 7th for program staff positions and March 14th for counseling staff positions.

Volunteers are a very important component of the camp programs. Individuals interested in volunteering have to be at least 18 years of age and past camp experience is desirable but not required. Volunteers have direct contact with campers and staff members, so they must be able to interact positively with both groups. The responsibilities that volunteers may have include participating in the daily camp program along with their assigned cabin, assisting in the implementation of evening activities, participating in campouts, and assisting cabin counselors with facilitating routines or schedules for their assigned cabin.

Medical volunteers are a significant part of the camp programs. The health and wellness of the entire camp rests with the medical personnel. A major portion of a medical volunteer's task is to assist campers in incorporating hemophilia, HIV/AIDS, and hepatitis constructively into their self concepts and lifestyles. Medical personnel are also relied upon to be the front-line people observing and handling camper and staff health concerns.
